Operations

Name the process before you automate it

5 min

Teams often ask for automation because the week is too full. The week is too full because the process is unclear, split across tools, or lives in one person's head.

If you automate that, you get a faster mess. Intake still arrives in three places. Follow-up still depends on who happens to see it. The dashboard looks busy and the work does not get lighter.

We sit with the people who do the work and write down what actually happens, including the exceptions. Then we decide what should run on its own, and what still needs a person.

Only after that do we build. The software follows the process, not the other way around.

If this is the kind of work you need in the operation, start a conversation.
